Getting the proper boot fit is a discussion we have frequently in the store.  There are 3 main things we look for and want to see when fitting a boot properly. You DO NOT want a boot on your foot so tight that it hurts and you shouldn't have to break it in to be comfortable.  Your boot should feel comfortable from the time you first put it on.  The leather will soften over time and conform to your foot but, should at all times be comfortable.

- Boots should be snug through your instep.  This leather will soften and stretch over time and if it becomes too loose the boot will flop on your foot.  You don't want them pinching tight but snug is perfect! This is what holds your foot in the boot.

-Toes should lay flat and not be pinched or on top of each other.  The toe cap of the boot will not stretch so it is very important that your toes are comfortable from the start.

- Your heel should lift in the boot as you walk anywhere from 1/4" to 1" depending on personal preference and heel cup.  We feel this is the most important aspect of the fitting process because boots will not allow your foot to flex and bend like other soles in shoes. You shouldn't slide back and forth but, UP and DOWN is what we look for.

Stop in and shop and let us make sure you have the proper fit!
